Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler haven’t shared the screen since the season 24 finale of ‘Law & Order: SVU’ in 2023
As the season 5 premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime draws closer, fans of Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler have a special — and stressful — reason to rejoice.
For the first time since 2023, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) are sharing the screen once more.
In the latest teaser, Benson can be heard softly saying “Elliot” as she stands by his bedside following a near-fatal car accident. While Stabler lies beat-up and seemingly unconscious in the hospital bed, a concerned-looking Benson stands over him.

Audiences last saw the two beloved “partners for life” in the season 24 finale of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2023, and while Stabler and Benson did speak on the phone during season 25, Hargitay’s appearance in the upcoming episode of OC marks a reunion a long time in the making.
The season preview teaser also features Stabler’s sergeant, Ayanna Bell, informing him that she needs him to go undercover again, as well as various scenes of Stabler on the job.

Last summer, Meloni exclusively told us that he was busy writing episode 2 — the one set to feature Hargitay.
“I know [Olivia] Benson will be with OC for a moment,” he revealed. “I’m going to have an opportunity to… I’ll tell you what. Hopefully, uncover, peel away a little bit more of the onion or uncover a little more depth of feeling between them.”

The premiere of OC will include the first two episodes of the season, followed by weekly installments for a total of ten, 60-minute episodes.
And, while past seasons have followed Stabler on a number of assignments with the Organized Crime Control Bureau, the newest season will explore “the dangerous worlds of cross-border smuggling, high-tech domestic terrorism and a crime family intent on repaying Stabler for the injury he did them in Rome,” according to NBC.

And, as Stabler’s “worlds collide,” he’ll have to “put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice,” says the network.
Season 5 of Law & Order: Organized Crime will premiere its first two episodes on Peacock on April 17, followed by a new episode every Thursday. A special telecast of the season premiere will also air on April 17 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
